We keep hearing about EXTREME EATZ, the outfit that began as a food truck in 2016 and now runs the restaurant at Arrowsmith Golf Club, the former LEFTY’s location and the original Extreme EATZ in Parksville and the Village Eatery(Formerly Baileys )in Qualicum Beach. We not been to any of them but yesterday hit their newest endeavour, THE SHACK TAPHOUSE at Eagle Crest Golf Course.

The Shack has taken over the old golf course location and includes a spacious pub atmosphere inside complete with a big stone fireplace and a long bar. Outside is a huge patio overlooking the course.

The Shack was busy on a sunny Friday but service was good. Sheila chose the Seafood Chowder. Loaded with a variety of seafood including large shrimp. I got a taste. Delicious. Really rich. Cod Tacos were my choice. 3 tacos, deep fried cod. Delicious. I especially liked the pickled red onion on top. These folks definitely know how to make and serve food.

Several orders of Fish & Chips passed by and the fish portions were huge. Probably a good choice if you love Fish & Chips.

.
We really like The Shack, even though it was a bit noisy. But then most pubs are.
Looking for an inviting patio on which to enjoy some good food? The Shack Taphouse might be the spot for you. It’s at 444 Country Club Dr, Qualicum Beach.
Check out their menu here.
Just saying…
I see they have taco tuesday just for you!
